A HOUSE CLEANER GOES GREEN AS A HEALTHY ALTERNATIVE

Increased popularity in the Green market is welcomed, according to the owner of a popular Green cleaning service “Green Clean”. A Commercial and Residential green cleaning service in the Inland Empire has seized the opportunity to go Green as an alternative to traditional cleaning. “The move to become Green really wasn’t a business move, it was a personal stand.” Rosa Gutierrez is making a living cleaning homes in the Inland Empire and surrounding areas. Her initial idea was to create jobs. After every cleaning, she came home every day with bleached clothing from the chemicals used. “Some of my clients were sold on the idea that bleach and ammonia must be used in order to sanitize. After every cleaning, we experienced a lot of things we weren’t comfortable with. For instance, our colored uniforms had large bleached spots. When we cleaned with children in the home, it was uncomfortable exposing them to the toxic fumes. The fumes released by the oven cleaners were so strong, it made me choke. I was embarrassed choking loudly clients thought I was having an attack of some kind. It was also costing me money to buy uniforms that kept looking professional. Ultimately, after every cleaning I felt nauseated, embarrassed and with feelings of guilt. All I could think about was leaving the homeowners and their families behind inhaling toxic fumes and chemicals. Many of our clients don’t open their windows because of the dust. This was even worst!”

Gutierrez knew she was onto a good business idea when she began investigating alternatives to cleaning that would be non-toxic, effective and environmentally-safe. She started testing her idea after reading articles online about potent and effective cleaners that didn’t use bleach or harsh chemicals in the ingredient. What she stumbled upon was a whole creation of non-toxic leaning products that called themselves “Green.”

She began testing her homemade products in her home. What she found was a cost-effective, efficient and non-toxic cleaning solution and Gutierrez was happy with the results. Now, a dedicated user of eco-friendly products, Gutierrez knew there was a strong growth potential for a service that combined clean with green. Her company, Green Clean, provides eco-friendly expertise and cleaning solution in the Inland Empire.

“People choose to have a professional cleaner to save time and give them the freedom to concentrate on their family and career, but increasingly they want to limit the amount of chemicals used in their homes,” she says. These days Gutierrez’s company, Green Clean is expanding the business to include Rapid Foreclosure Cleanouts a junk removal and hauling business combined with cleaning and other services due to the high demand brought upon by the recent mortgage crisis.

When it comes to creating an advantage, Gutierrez says, “we want to be seen as making strides toward environmental sustainability – by reducing waste, recycling and conserving, for example. There’s no shortage of tools to help us achieve these goals.”

The green movement has branched out into housecleaning with no end in sight. And though larger companies are the most outspoken about their green efforts, Gutierrez and others say it’s a trend that will affect cleaning businesses of all sizes.
Environmental sustainability (the term used in corporate circles to describe efforts to reduce company’s negative impact on the environment) is largely being tackled by the industry’s giants. Take a look at any of the top publicly traded companies’ annual reports and you’ll find goals for recycling, reducing and designing more energy efficient facilities.

Legislative and regulatory issues are driving awareness and increasing demand for these products and services. “This is no longer a “Business as Usual” world when it comes to cleaning. Green Practices are changing the focus from just cleaning into a lifestyle change. “Green Clean takes pride in providing a healthier alternative to cleaning!”

Rosa Gutierrez is also taking advantage of services offered by social media marketing groups such as MyStory Marketing http://www.mystorymarketing.com and LP Marketing Group http://www.lpmarketinggroup.com to gain internet exposure and brand the Green Clean business.
